The product
portfolio sections below provide an overview of the injection molding
solutions that Plastikos has delivered to its customers over the past 15
years. Over this time period,
production volumes at Plastikos have continued to grow; currently, Plastikos
produces almost 13 million parts per month, which equates to approximately
150 million parts annually. Automotive: Plastikos has provided quality finished products to
automotive industry from the earliest days of the organization’s
existence. Each project for the
automotive industry presents a unique set of challenges and opportunities for
Plastikos to demonstrate its engineering and manufacturing capabilities. Last year alone, Plastikos supplied over
8.25 million parts to a leading automotive supplier.

Medical: This project required extremely close tolerances to
be met in order to form a seal between two solenoids in a kidney dialysis
medical device in which very tight tolerances are required to form an adequate
fluid seal. The product is manufactured out of Ultem-1000 grade material,
which required skilled material processing to deliver quality finished
product. |

Military: Plastikos has
worked with a leading supplier to our nation’s military to develop and
manufacture complex components for use in military jets. These projects not only require precise
engineering and manufacturing capabilities, but also restricted building
access to safeguard the product. |

Nano-Connectors: The smallest connectors ever
manufactured at Plastikos were for use in nanotechnology applications. This project was challenging due to the
exceptionally small size of the finished product. In fact, one of the connectors required a
skilled operator with the use of tweezers to hand-load an insert into the
mold prior to molding. The tools ran
in production at Plastikos for approximately 10 years.

Telecommunications:
Plastikos manufactured multiple variations of the strain relief which
is a critical component to fiber optics applications. The most challenging of these strain
reliefs is the 90 degree variety, which required complicated processing to
deliver parts that exceeded the customer’s expectations.
